Tis the Season to Be Grateful
Ah, November that wonderful magical transition time of year. The beautiful fall leaves from October are now falling off the trees, the daylight hours are shorter, and the temperature is becoming much cooler. Not quite winter yet but nature is working its way there. This time of year and on Thankful Thursday, I remind myself Tis the Season to Be Grateful.

With Thanksgiving Day only a week away many begin to take on an air of gratitude about them. Why I ask myself do we reserve our feelings of gratefulness to only one time of year? Why not celebrate the gift of giving thanks daily?
I myself, as I know many of you do also, say our devotions and prayers daily and include our gratitude in them. My challenge to you is this…why not spread the joy of gratitude on a daily basis that is shared with others and not just kept in our private thoughts.
Our actions are what truly define what we are grateful for. Try this activity once in a while and see if the act of gratitude begins to spread. How about starting your day with a smile on your face because you are grateful to be given another day to fulfill your dreams. Sounds simple enough doesn’t it?

Now pass that “smile” on to someone else you encounter today. You may not realize just how powerful the optimistic action of that smile could be to someone who really needs the backing that comes with it. An encouraging look and that easy positive act by you may have just helped to change someone’s outlook on the day.
That person could then share their changing attitude of gratitude with the next person and so on and so on. Before you know it that one seemingly effortless deed has had a snowball effect on the general population. Gratitude is now streaming through the veins of many who are now sharing their own act of gratefulness.
See it Tis the Season to Be Grateful. Let us not keep it to ourselves. It truly is time to share our gratitude with others even if it is but one small activity at a time. I believe the world can become a better place for showing our gratefulness. Why not all of us start today; here I’ll go first…
Keep smiling, I know I will.
