Simple Abundance Feeling Comforted and Joyful
Another Thankful Thursday is here and today I wanted to share with you about how Simple Abundance left me Feeling Comforted and Joyful. I love books and I love to read. Unfortunately lately the luxury of reading time has been taken up with preparing for the holidays, work, and household chores. You know what I’m talking about all the stuff we need to get accomplished on a daily basis.

Yesterday however, I stole back an hour for myself and made time for a nice leisurely re-read activity of one of my favorite books.
I often go back over many of the books in our home library for enjoyment and inspiration. It had been a while since I had pulled this particular book off my shelf but I am so glad I did. Maybe it was Divine Wisdom that guided my hand towards that specific book. At any rate, it was just what I needed on that exact day.

The book is titled, Simple Abundance: A Daybook of Comfort and Joy written by Sarah Ban Breathnach. Now if this post comes off as a book review I guess in a way it is. More importantly though I wanted to share with you my sister-friends, my kindred spirits, you-other women what the author, also a woman, has renewed in me. I am grateful for finding this book again. It has brought to life again in me a sense of regaining a part of myself that I sometimes put on the backburner because all too often I let ‘things’ get in the way of being my authentic self. Does this sound familiar to any of you?
I can tell you that reading this book once more has for me lived up to its title of adding “Comfort and Joy” in my life. I can relate to Ms. Ban Breathnach on a very personal level. The wit and wisdom she uses in her writing style is from a “real” woman’s perspective and not a clinical study. Her honest approach in dealing with life is set in a way that I think many women can see eye to eye on. I know at least this woman does.
She has divided her Simple Abundance into what she calls “Six Practical, Creative, and Spiritual Principles”:
• Gratitude
• Simplicity
• Order
• Harmony
• Beauty
• Joy
I really liked that this book is written in a style that allows you to take an excerpt each day for inspiration. It has daily quotes and passages for a year’s worth of treasures for the reader’s enjoyment and enlightenment. Even though this is December which is where you could start on the date you receive the book it is best to begin the book in the January where the six Simple Abundance principles are explained.

In my search to find a link for you to get your own copy of Simple Abundance I found a new treasure. Sarah has also offers a Simple Abundance Journal of Gratitude book. Obviously you can tell that I like to write and finding this journal of gratitude book is right up my alley. I am planning on making that one of my own purchases, or perhaps I should drop a little hint to someone for an idea for a great Christmas gift that I know that I will enjoy. Hmm, there’s a thought, she giggles to herself.

I hope that you will check this book out for yourself. You may just want to let someone you know that you are interested in this discovery for an inspirational holiday present that they could surprise you with this holiday season. In my opinion this book is filled with riches that we could all use and deem important to follow. Maybe we should let Santa in on what we have found too?
I am thankful for being given a chance to share with you my thoughts on Simple Abundance and how it has left me feeling comforted and joyful this Thankful Thursday. Go and enjoy the rest of your day and as always be grateful.
