How to Show Your Gratitude on Valentines Day and Every Day
You see them everywhere this time of year; candy hearts and flowers and stuffed bears oh my… Valentine’s Day is right around the corner. Most people wait until the last minute then rush out trying to find the perfect card or trinket to show their sweetheart how much they care about them. It is often a one time deal on a once a year shot. I propose a new challenge to you. Why not think about How to Show Your Gratitude on Valentine’s Day and Every Day. That’s right let your loved ones know how much they mean to you on a daily basis.
Showing Your Gratitude Daily
Now I am not saying that you have to come up with elaborate gifts each day. What I am saying though is that you can tell and show those you care about what is truly in your heart in simple ways. I mentioned this idea on last week’s Thankful Thursday post and thought it best to carry on with even more thoughts on the subject this week. Do you need some help coming up with ideas? Well that’s no problem. Here are a few suggestions that you can try to get you started.
Daily Gratitude Ideas
- Show Your Heart – Draw a heart on a steamed up shower mirror while your loved one is getting ready for work. Think of how surprised and pleased they will be with the loving message you’ve left when they step out and see it. Mirrors not close to the steam? No worries; use red lipstick on the mirror instead. The effect will still leave the same lasting impression.
- Loving Lunches – Make heart-shaped cookie cutter sandwiches packed in your kids’ lunch boxes. Add a little note that says something like, “You are my heart! Love Mom”.
- Give a Ring – Call someone you care about out of the blue just to tell them that you were thinking of them and are so grateful that they are a part of your life. You might not know the impact that simple statement of gratitude could mean to someone. Maybe that was just what they needed to hear on that particular day.
- Get Cooking – Prepare your family’s favorite meal for no other reason than to let them know how much you wanted to do something special for them. Maybe even make heart shaped cookies for dessert with a special candy heart message to each family member on them.
- Get the Message Across – Write heartfelt notes to every member of your family. Leave them in conspicuous places like on their pillows so they will get the messages just before bedtime. Think about the pleasant thoughts and dreams this can evoke. This will give them a sense of being loved and peaceful reflections as they drop off to a good night’s rest.
All of these activities are a wonderful example of creating special family bonding time. Putting the ideas into practice will surely bring your loved ones closer and they will have no doubt about your gratitude for them.
Don’t limit yourself to these few suggestions on showing your gratitude to those you love and care about. I know you all are very creative and have probably thought of other grateful ideas while reading this post. I would love to hear what you all have come up with; leave me a comment and let me know. Until then, think about How To Show Your Gratitude on Valentine’s Day and Every Day.
Blessings to you and yours always.
