Finding The Real You

Finding the real you. I hear women say all the time that they just want to be themselves. I know that I have said the same thing.
Discovering the real you is not an easy process, but one that is attainable.

Women are unique beings. We are all different yet we have distinct characteristics that form common bonds. Most of us are nurturing, loving and giving. We all have talents, hopes and dreams. Women go about things in their own way. That is one beauty of womanhood. I truly believe that women want to just be themselves. I know I do. We say that we want individuality. Still, a good many of us out there are striving to feel comfortable in our own skin.

There is nothing more attractive than seeing a woman full of self-confidence and assurance within themselves. There is a glow about these women that is undeniable. Others look at this woman and want to emulate what they see.

This in itself may be part of the reason some women have problems with their own identity. Instead of looking within ourselves for answers we turn to what society has dictated as the image of the “perfect woman”.

Well I am here to tell you folks that the idea of perfect is a myth. It is fine to admire someone without trying to become that person. You don’t have to be perfect. Just be you. Each of us has our own qualities and characteristics to be admired.

What are yours? Here is an activity for you to try in helping find your own sense of identity. There is no right or wrong answer to the questions. This is just meant as a guideline for you to look at yourself as an individual and the qualities that you possess. Keep your answers honest but positive.

Ask yourself these questions:

•    What am I able to do well?
•    What makes me happy?
•    What physical traits do I like about myself?
•    What personal characteristics do I possess?
•    What would I like to achieve?
•    What type of risks do I take?
•    How do I perform tasks?
•    What is my emotional temperament?
•    How energetic am I?
•    What are my attitudes about spending?
•    What do I want to learn?
•    How do I look at life?

You are only limited in this activity by your own determination. If you believe in yourself as an individual then you can become the person you want to be. It is all in your mindset. Your personal growth is totally up to you.

Remember this is just a sample listing of questions to ask. Come up with your own list. It is your list after all and should be uniquely suited to your own situation. The list should include whatever questions you have for yourself.

Let your list grow and watch what happens. Soon you will be discovering the “real you”.
